King River Rafting

King River Rafting was established in 2014 by husband and wife team Paul Steane and Michele Cordwell-Steane.   After working with the Tasmanian Government for almost 40 years we started King River Rafting in 2014 with the ambition of returning something to the state which had been so good to us.

With a passion and love of wild places and Tasmania’s rivers in particular we saw the potential of the King River as a wilderness white water rafting destination.  The ability of Hydro Tasmania to control the flow in the King River was a key ingredient in the success of our idea.   With the cooperation of Hydro Tasmania and the hospitality of the renown West Coast Wilderness Railway the Tasmanian community has come together to develop a product of which we and all of Tasmania can be truly proud.

Our wonderful professional guides will look after you and take you down the river in safety and ensure that you have the very best time.  From the moment we meet at the West Coast Wilderness Railway Station in Queenstown to when we say our goodbyes at the end of the day your safety and satisfaction will be at the forefront of the guides minds.  Purchase a photo USB and a company drink bottle as keepsakes of your adventure on Tasmania’s west coast and make sure that you tell all your friends of King River Rafting.
