Family Adventure at Serpentarium Wildlife Park Tasmania

Tasmania is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife, making it the perfect destination for a memorable family vacation. The Serpentarium Wildlife Park is a World Class themed indoor reptile exhibit & museum.

Conservation and Education

Serpentarium’s ideal is to raise awareness of reptiles and support the conservation, preservation, and appreciation of nature.

Managed by Parks and Wildlife Tasmania, Serpentarium Wildlife Park plays a vital role in conserving Tasmania’s natural and cultural heritage. A visit to the park not only supports local initiatives but also contributes to the conservation efforts of Parks and Wildlife Tasmania.

Families can participate in educational programs and tours that emphasise conservation and the significance of preserving Australia’s unique wildlife, fostering a sense of responsibility in future generations.

Exciting Wildlife Encounters

The Serpentarium is a heated indoor reptile exhibit and museum displaying exotic captive breed reptiles, unique indigenous artefacts coupled with gem and crystal displays. The park features the Green Anaconda, Reticulated Python, the Indian Star Tortoises and the Tasmanian Eastern Grey Kangaroos in the park’s 3-acre Macropod sanctuary.

Serpentarium Wildlife Park specialises in exotic captive bred reptiles. They do not have any venomous snakes, as they can’t share them with their visitors safely.

Another notable park highlight is the hands-on visitor experience with Keeper Presentation which happens daily at 12 noon. The Keeper Presentation includes a 10 – 15 minute introduction into the physiology of Pythons, bush awareness with our three venomous snakes in Tasmania, and then a demonstration in how to work with a python safely in keeper assisted handling.

Location and Opening Hours

The Serpentarium Wildlife Park is open everyday from 11am to 3pm. It’s located at 5 West Street, St Helens Tasmania.

Admission Fee

Your entry fee goes to the operational and animal welfare costs of maintaining the exhibits. All the reptiles and animals receive one on one care and personalised attention with professional and qualified Keepers.
