Support For Students

Catholic Education Tasmania is inclusive of all students and caters for students with additional needs and those with a disability.

Tasmanian Catholic schools and colleges have access to our centralised Student Support Services to deliver appropriate support to students with additional needs and/or disabilities. A range of expertise, personnel, and resources are provided to support all students’ access to and participation in learning. Each school provides a range of pastoral care and well-being programs and strategies designed to assist and support their students and families through grief, loss, trauma, illness, and times of stress.

Catholic Education Tasmania works in collaboration with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to support students with a disability in schools. CET also supports students with Speech Pathology, Psychological testing and support, Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy, Hearing Impairment, and Autism.

Enrolment

Tasmanian Catholic schools welcome families of all faiths and backgrounds who seek a Catholic education. Children from non-Catholic families can enrol if they support Catholic values.

Most schools have specific times to enrol in Kindergarten, Year 7, and Year 11, but you can apply for other years at any time if there is space. There is strong demand in many of our schools and colleges so families are advised to complete and return their enrolment applications before the advertised due dates.

For enrolment information, school fees, and term dates, you may visit their website.

CatholicCare Tasmania

Catholic Education Tasmania is partnering with CatholicCare Tasmania to deliver early learning and care through their Ludo program. CatholicCare Tasmania currently provides school counselling services and Outside School Hours Care program for many families within Catholic education.

Conveniently located on Catholic school sites across Tasmania, play-based early learning and care will be available to Tasmanian families five days a week, 50 weeks a year.

Catholic Education Tasmania seeks to have a positive impact on children’s outcomes over the long term. The early learning and care teams work collaboratively to provide Tasmanian children and their families with a program that will encourage their successful transition into the primary school setting.

Through this program for children aged 3 to 5 years old, families will also have the option to access additional services such as speech therapy and counselling all under one roof.
