Zoodoo Zoo Story

Zoodoo is a guest funded Tasmanian Wildlife Park that has been operating for 24 years providing local Tasmanians & visitors to Tasmania with a unique opportunity to appreciate and interact with animals.

The zoo has a new vision for the future is now being carried forward by owner/director Donna Cuttriss and the Zoodoo team, leading the way with an exciting new direction and vision for the future that will be centered on partnerships, collaboration, conservation and community engagement encouraging a move towards a sustainable future for all – much more than a zoo. They aspire to become the pride of the community and inspire action for change.

Close Encounters with Animals

A highlight of Zoodoo Zoo is the chance for up-close encounters with animals. Visitors can interact with various farm animals, be a “Zoodoo keeper for a day” or even have personal encounters with other animals like meerkats or marmosets. These experiences enable visitors to gain insights into the animals and their habitats in an interactive and unforgettable manner.

Exciting Activities for the Whole Family

Zoodoo Zoo offers a variety of activities that ensure enjoyment for the entire family.

  • Indoor Playland: This area consists of a large adventure playground, trampoline, toddlers ball pit and soft play area. Accessible all day long access to the play areas are included in the admission price.
  • Walk Through Aviary: Immerse yourself in the large walk through bird aviary with a variety of parrots, doves, pigeons & finches flying right past you. Spend some time soaking up the bird sounds and spotting all the species in this habitat. 
  • Hill Top Farm: Get up close to the ever popular and friendly farm animals and take in the breath-taking views of the Coal River Valley. Animals in our Barnyard precinct include British White cattle, ponies, alpacas, donkey, Elliotdale sheep, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs. Many of these animals are very friendly and can be hand fed with pellet food available in the feed dispensers.

Daily Animal Presentations

Meet up with our Zookeepers throughout the day and get to know both them and the animals they care for. A full day of back to back informative and engaging opportunities to learn about some of the animals at the zoo, how they are cared for and aspects of their natural biology.

Following a day of exploration and discovery, visitors can relax and dine at the zoo café with a wide selection of food and beverage options. The Zoodoo zoo is open every day from 9am to 5pm. They are closed Christmas Day.
