Join us for an exciting and educational day at the Kids Teaching Kids program 2024, proudly hosted by John Tonkin College. This peer-to-peer learning program turns the traditional program upside down by putting students at the forefront.
Kids Teaching Kids is a renowned peer-to-peer learning program that transforms the traditional classroom experience by allowing students to lead. Throughout the school year, participating students work on projects addressing environmental challenges, honing their skills in STEM, leadership, creativity, and teamwork. The program culminates in a one-day conference where students showcase their innovative solutions through creative and interactive presentations.
This year’s event will be a day of excitement and education for primary and secondary students from Mandurah and the Peel region. The morning session will feature student presentations, with up to five classes rotating in five rooms. In the afternoon, students will participate in a freestyle info stall expo, providing an interactive platform to share their knowledge and solutions.
Throughout the school year, students work on projects tackling environmental challenges while developing skills in STEM, leadership, creativity, and teamwork. This year’s theme is ‘Sustainable Species’, focusing on the importance of the survival of our native flora and fauna.

Students are encouraged to choose a native fauna species to present to their peers. Depending on class size, we will rotate up to 5 classes in each session. In the afternoon, students will break out into a freestyle info stall expo. This is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their innovative solutions in creative, interactive and fun ways.
