O’Brien Icehouse is giving everyone in Melbourne the chance to make this Christmas feel like a traditional northern hemisphere Christmas celebration.
Every year we see pictures from the northern hemisphere of people having fun in the snow and skating during the Christmas celebrations and O’Brien Icehouse is making this possible in Melbourne during December with all-day skating and the chance to skate with Santa.
“We all love seeing the photos of people skating in the northern winter, including in New York’s Central Park during Christmas, and this year we are encouraging people to experience the thrill of ice-skating in Melbourne during this period,” said O’Brien Icehouse CEO, Lee Gordon.
It may not be Central Park, but the conditions inside are cool and O’Brien Icehouse is much closer and easier to get to than New York. Featuring two Olympic size ice rinks there is plenty of parking and public transport, plus there is the chance to skate with Santa.
“This is a great opportunity for people in Melbourne to enjoy a little piece of a Winter Christmas during the festive season,” Lee added.
The Skate with Santa activities will feature between 11am and 3pm in two weekends in
December: Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th and again on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd.
Public skating is available 364 days a year at O’Brien Icehouse with special activities adding to the fun for all ages.
Tight Ice Tuesdays – Half Price skating for adults on Tuesday nights (except on public holidays and during school holidays).
RNB Friday nights – Party night with guest DJ and the biggest hits from the 80s through to today on a giant video wall.
Sunday Funday – Fun with family and friends from 9am every Sunday with DJ song requests, prizes and games and a special Under 8s session between 9am and 10am.
