These April school holidays it’s Pirates vs. Mermaids at AQWA, so bring your little ocean explorers for some nautical nonsense and a magical adventure – they might just win a fantastic prize pack too!
AQWA’s new Adventure Bay area will come alive with interactive pirate shows with the rapscallion Captain Boots and magical underwater performances from the Perth Mermaids, every day from 13-17th April.
Captain Boots will kick off his show at 10.30am and encourage kids to join in his adventure storytelling. If they do, they will also score a balloon sword and become an honorary pirate!
The Perth Mermaids will meet their little fans at 10.30am and 12.30pm then mystify them with an underwater performance and interactions at 11am and 1pm. Watch out for the splash- zone, as these mischievous mermaids like to splosh and splash!
Throughout the whole holidays (April 8-23) there’s free pirate and mermaid themed crafts, like decorate a mermaid crown or bracelet and fashion your own pirate hat. Our Adventure Ocean Guides will also be on hand from 11am with bonus story-time sessions, bubble-blowing stations and more!
Plus, all little explorers that visit during school holidays will get to vote for their favourite ocean adventurer – pirate or mermaid – for their chance to win a treasure trove of goodies! The winner will receive their choice of pirate or mermaid themed prize pack full of toys and other loot.
For those seeking a totally unique experience, the school holidays is the perfect time to try one of AQWA’s new Adventure activities.
There’s a Shark Sleepover on April 13 to celebrate AQWA’s birthday and it’s going to be the coolest slumber party in town! Buy Shark Sleepover tickets at the website, then call AQWA and book to avoid disappointment, as places are limited.
It’s also the last chance this season for kids to jump into AQWA’s Adventure Bay aquarium and try diving (ages 12+), snorkelling, or swimming with a mermaid (ages 8+)!
