DESCRIPTION:The Westbury Preservation Association\, the community Not-for-Profit\, heritage Charity group that owns and operates Pearns Steam World in Westbury\, are having their annual STEAM UP! event again this year. \n  \nThe three days of the Recreation Day Holiday Weekend (1st to 3rd November) will see: \n\nEngines in steam\nFree train rides\nOld-time farm machinery displays (including baling demonstrations when possible)\nCountry-style catering and local charitable stalls in the engine sheds.\nThe local Blacksmith will also be in residence\, showing the skills from the forge.\nSaturday will see a gathering of Steam Punk community members.\nSunday will have a small animals petting area.\nMechanical music machines/organs.\nNew exhibits on show.\n\n  \nSPECIAL FEATURE: Early Land Rovers – designed to be the farmer’s general vehicle. \nIt was first held at Pearn’s family farm in Hagley in around 1965\, and moved to the Pearns Steam World Museum site in Westbury in the late 1980’s. \nRun entirely by volunteers\, the museum is open every day except Christmas Day and ANZAC Day. \nGates open at 9:30am each day

DESCRIPTION:This November\, Tasmazia & The Village of Lower Crackpot invites the community to come together for a day of celebration\, creativity\, and fun — marking 40 years of Mazes & Murals in the Kentish region. \nOn Saturday\, November 15th\, 2025\, visitors are invited to step into the heart of Tasmazia for a day filled with family-friendly activities\, live entertainment\, and a touch of nostalgia. \nFrom 10am to 4pm\, the grounds will come alive with children’s games\, face painting\, live music\, and a special performance by the Mountain Echoes Community Choir. \nVisitors can also enjoy an art exhibition\, a BBQ lunch\, exciting giveaways\, and a special screening of The Laird of Lower Crackpot — a documentary celebrating the vision and legacy of Tasmazia’s founder\, Brian Inder. \nThe Crackpot Café and Gift Shop will be open throughout the day\, offering delicious treats and unique souvenirs for visitors to enjoy. Gates open from 10am\, with all activities beginning from 11am. \nThis milestone is more than a celebration — it’s a tribute to the imagination\, artistry\, and community spirit that have shaped Kentish into the vibrant destination it is today. \nSo gather your family and friends\, and join us as we honour 40 wonderful years of Mazes & Murals — a story of creativity\, colour\, and community that continues to inspire.

SUMMARY:Harcourts 321-GO kids' race
DESCRIPTION:Now in its 26th year\, this one of Burnie’s major community events. The 2025 Harcourts Burnie 321-GO Kids’ Race will be held on Sunday\, November 16\, at Burnie’s West Park Oval. This iconic Burnie event is a great family day\, so make sure your kids are entered and come along and enjoy the experience. \nThe concept for the race was established as a safe alternative for children competing in the Burnie Ten. The event offers children aged between 5 and 13 the chance to participate in a running event in a top coastal arena over a distance appropriate for their age. \n\nThe age categories correspond with the following race distances: \n\n13 & Under Boys / Girls – 3km.\n10 & Under Boys / Girls – 2km.\n7 & Under Boys / Girls – 1km.\nAll Abilities – 200 m\n\nHave a Go (200 M) \nThe new inclusive participation event\, ‘Have a Go’\, will be conducted in partnership with the NW Support School. This event is open to children 4 – 13 years of age and will be held at about 10 am. Participants can register online or on the day. \nLap for Littlies \nChildren 4 years and under are also invited to join their parents for a lap around the oval at the beginning of the event. You must register for insurance purposes in the designated room under the grandstand before 10:30 am for an 11:00 am start. Directions will be available on the day. No race numbers will be issued. \nOnline Registration Opens September 2025\, closes 4pm Saturday 15th November. Late registration will be available on the day at a higher charge of $25. \nBib Collection Friday 10am-5pm Harcourts Bass Highway\, Cooee \nSaturday 2-4pm under the grandstand \nplus Sunday morning at West Park if needed. \n  \nParking \nThe new UTAS car park behind West Park Oval will be open and available for parking on the day. \n  \n
