SUMMARY:Author Event: Jodi Wilson at Devonport Library
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Devonport Bookshop\, join us for the launch of Jodi Wilson’s new book\, A Brain That Breathes.\n\n\n\nJoin us for the launch of Jodi Wilson’s new book A Brain That Breathes\, a thoughtful\, evidence-based guide to what our brains truly need to stay happy\, healthy and productive. \nAfter a lifetime with anxiety\, Jodi wanted to better understand herself so she could continue to be creative and productive without slipping into overwhelm and exhaustion. In this fascinating exploration of the brain and body\, she discovers that neuroscientists and psychologists\, as well as artists and sustainable living experts\, all agree on the one habit that can change how we live. It’s something our ancestors had in abundance but we’ve essentially eradicated from our lives: free time\, spare time\, leisure time – real space to breathe. \nA Brain that Breathes is full of accessible and practical suggestions to embrace the power of ‘enoughness’\, ‘soft fascination’ and intentional ‘not-doing’ so you can declutter your mind\, restore your attention\, and live every day with breathing space. \nAt this free event\, hear Jodi Wilson talk about the ideas behind her latest work. Books will be available for purchase from the Devonport Bookshop on the night – chat to Jodi as she signs them for you. \nTo ensure a successful event\, please: \n· Don’t attend if you are unwell \n· Let us know if you can’t attend so we can offer your place to someone else \n· Let us know if you have any support needs\, or if a support person will be coming with you. \nAccessibility: \n· The multi-level car park (corner of Best Street and Fenton Way) provides disabled access parking\, lift access and flat walking surfaces between the car park and the paranaple centre. Council parking fees apply. \n· Entrance to the paranaple centre is via automatic doors at both Market Square and Rooke Street entrances. The Market Square entrance offers universal access and is available at the touch of a button\, providing ease for patrons with access difficulties. \n· Inside the paranaple centre\, Devonport Library is located on both ground and first floors. Escalators\, lifts and stairs are available to take you between the two floors. A parent and child room is situated on the ground floor and accessible toilets are available on all floors. \n#LibrariesTasmania #DevonportLibrary #NorthWest #AuthorEvent #DevonportBookshop #JodiWilson
