Start new drawings or bring works in progress and gain insights from Ben’s experience. Children are encouraged to bring a picture prompt. Scribbles\, notes and rough sketches that go into the making of a book will be on display. \nAbout Ben Clifford \nBorn and raised in a leafy Tasmanian suburb\, Ben Clifford began illustrating after travelling to England in his twenties. With a background in photography and graphic design\, his first picture book was published in 2017. His work includes a 2020 Speech Pathology shortilisted book of the year award. Ben held his first painting exhibition in 2019\, supported by Clarence Arts and Events. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun and vibrant day for the family at the Hobart Town Hall on Sunday\, 19 October. \nThe Hobart Town Hall is one of Hobart’s finest heritage buildings and the hallways and major rooms will be open for the public to explore. This is a free\, fun day where you can soak up the history\, the architecture\, and enjoy free musical performances\, informative talks and historical displays. \nFor children and families\, there will be free facepainting\, games and activities\, dancing workshops\, craft activities and storytelling. \nHighlights will include climbing aboard one of Hobart’s historic double decker trams\, seeing the steam roller in action\, listening to the choirs and folk bands\, and enjoying the mini floral show in back of the ballroom. \nThere will also be a series of building tours where you can learn more about the historic rooms in the building and learn some fun facts.
