With the\niconic Puffing Billy steam train sounding off in the background\, little legs and family\nteams alike will be encouraged along the trail. After the race\, enjoy a day of free\nfamily entertainment and activities at the Lakeside Visitor Centre. \nDAY TWO: THE CLASSIC RACE AGAINST THE TRAIN\nSunday sees the return of the legendary 13.5km ‘Classic’\, where up to 2\,500 runners\nwill challenge the mighty Puffing Billy from Belgrave to Emerald Lake Park starting at\n8.45 am. Family and friends can hop aboard the train to cheer runners on — and\nmaybe even cross the finish line first! \nPuffing Billy Railway’s Lakeside Visitor Centre will once again serve as the Festival’s\nFinish Zone\, offering an array of food and beverage options at the Railway Café as\nwell as the opportunity to bask in the serene natural beauty of Emerald Lake Park\npost-race. \nThis event would not be possible without the support of Puffing Billy Railway’s\ndedicated volunteers. \nProceeds from the Festival help fund essential heritage restoration projects.

DESCRIPTION:September spring school holidays are the best – it’s not too cold\, not too hot\, so perfect for getting out\, and SkyHigh Mt Dandenong is the place to be for great activities and fun for kids to make sure you never hear those two dreaded words: “I’m bored!” \nEvery week day there’s so much happening; meet animals up close\, take part in treasure hunts\, enjoy a pony ride\, some music or mini golf. \nThe fun activities and games change every week day\, so make sure you check the daily activities and times below. All the activities below are free of charge and  for children between 5 and 12 years old only – The parking fee still applies for all vehicles. No activities are scheduled over the weekends and public holidays. \nYou can even dine in at the SkyHigh bistro or grab a bite to eat or coffee and cake at our kiosk. \nPlus the SkyHigh Maze is open every day (weather permitting) – Entry fees apply for the maze. \n\n\nWhen:\nSeptember School Holidays every week day from Tuesday\, September 23rd to Thursday\, October 2nd 2025 (Excludes weekends and public holidays)
