Learn about what school was like in the 1800s. Try writing with a slate and pencil or a quill and ink. Make your own peg doll or construct other paper-craft toys.
Wool and Textile Crafts

From the early days, the wool industry was important to Ross, and so it remains. Have a go at carding wool with teasels, use a drop spindle to spin yarn, or try French knitting.
Stonemasonry
Wednesday 24th January – between 11:00am and 1:00pm
Using plastic tools and an easy-to-carve block, carve your own design, or try replicating your own piece of the Ross Bridge, famous for its convict carvings

Recommended age: 8-14 years. Participants must be accompanied by an adult.
Traditional outdoor games will be available on the Tasmanian Wool Centre lawn on each of these days (weather permitting). Challenge your family to a game of quoits, test your croquet skills or show off your skipping prowess.
