The Big Draw
Calling for Arts Facilitators
The Big Draw is a fun, colourful and energetic event aimed at arts education to promote visual literacy and the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression and invention. In 2017, Mandurah will participate in this event by having over fifteen FREE Big Draw activities stationed around the cultural precinct.
This year The Big Draw Mandurah is themed “Create like the Greats”, combining arts and education to deliver activities based on the artistic styling of Great Artists and historical arts movements such as Impressionism, Post Impressionism, Cubism, Fauvism, Expressionism, Dadaism, Surrealism, Pop Art.
Big Draw facilitators are asked to choose a well known artist or arts movement and create a Big Draw activity inspired by their chosen artist or movement. For example: create like Pablo Picasso with a collage of coloured shapes. The opportunities are endless and we encourage you to be creative with your activity, keeping in mind the activity will need to suit all ages and ability levels and be simple enough for you to manage as a group activity.
