From the 12th – 14th of January 2018 the vibrant country town of Cygnet will again play host to the annual Cygnet Folk Festival: Tasmania’s leading celebration of folk and world music, dance, poetry, performance art, food and culture! In its 36th year, this iconic Festival is highly regarded by musicians and festival-goers from all over Australia and overseas, and competition to perform at the festival is at an all time high among artists.
The incredible talent of local, interstate and international artists is celebrated over the January weekend and we are proud that so many amazing performers and festival-goers take part in what the Festival has to offer each year.
Set in the picturesque Huon Valley countryside, the Festival has the advantage of being less than an hour’s drive away from cosmopolitan state capital Hobart and attracts thousands of visitors every year. A rich cultural community event, the Festival provides entertainment to a wide audience of Festival attendees, making people smile, providing a springboard for young musicians, opportunities for local businesses to showcase the region’s superb home grown produce and artisan skills, and the flowering of new friendships.
