SUMMARY:Shinju Matsuri Festival
DESCRIPTION:Shinju Matsuri – meaning ‘festival of the pearl’ – is a vibrant celebration of Broome’s (Rubibi’s) rich multicultural and pearling heritage. \nHeld each year over 16 days in August and September\, the festival brings the town to life with a dynamic program of events that highlight the sights\, sounds\, and flavours of this iconic coastal community. \nSince the late 1800s\, Broome has drawn people from across the globe—Japanese\, Chinese\, Malay\, Indonesian\, Filipino\, European and Aboriginal communities—united by the lure of the region’s prized South Sea pearls. \nShinju Matsuri honours this unique cultural tapestry with an exciting lineup of events set against Broome’s breathtaking natural backdrop of white sands\, turquoise waters and red cliffs. From beachside sunset feasts to colourful cultural performances\, it’s a feast for the senses. \nWant more? Visit a pearl farm\, join the camel conga line for a sunset ride along picture-perfect Cable Beach and discover ancient dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point. Then as darkness descends and conditions are just right\, witness the natural phenomenon of the Staircase to the Moon at Roebuck Bay. \nThe welcoming Kimberley town of Broome is a two-and-a-half-hour flight north of Perth.

SUMMARY:SLIDE Youth Dance Theatre - Someone Else’s Story
DESCRIPTION:Communities are made up of vulnerable\, unique and beautifully flawed people. And that’s a good thing\, because it would be boring if we were all the same. \nSomeone Else’s Story is a sharp\, comedic exploration of society’s moral fabric when an ordinary morning train ride quickly derails and the commuters\, a band of misfits\, find themselves in a very tricky position. \nCollectively\, they must work together to solve a HUGE dilemma before they reach the end of the train line; strangers when they first stepped into the carriage\, and then colleagues\, one might say\, when the train pulls into the last station. \nCaught in the crossfire of conflicting opinions\, quiet crushes\, prickly personalities and problem solving geniuses\, Heather is having a difficult day. \nSometimes\, difficult days are made better when you let good people in. \nA reimagining of the 2019 hit\, this production delivers hilarious storytelling\, bold physicality\, poignant characters and mandarin essence. \nIn Someone Else’s Story\, you might see the vulnerable\, unique and beautiful parts of yourself…

SUMMARY:Everlasting Kings Park Festival
DESCRIPTION:We’ve been wild about wildflowers for 62 years at the Everlasting Kings Park Festival! \nThere are events for everyone to enjoy throughout September as we celebrate the nature and culture of Western Australia in Perth’s favourite park. \nSpring 2026 will be a feast for the senses with thousands of wildflowers and more than 3\,000 WA plant species on display. There are dozens of fabulous workshops\, displays\, guided walks and talks\, family activities and much more to explore. \nThe Festival is proudly presented by Kings Park and Botanic Garden and supported by volunteers and tour operators. \nFestival facts\nWe love getting everyone involved\, so many of the Festival events and activities are free\, from displays\, to guided walks and talks.\nWe have an army of passionate horticulturists and volunteers who are recognised as being among the most skilled in the world. Behind the scenes\, they are supported by the Kings Park Nursery\, which produces all the plants you see in gardens from seed.\nIt’s a year-round preparation for the Kings Park Festival\, with approximately 25 staff and 20 volunteers planting wildflowers for a three-month period leading up to the Festival. Garden planning\, seed germination and growing plants in the nursery happens up to three years in advance of each Festival.\nThe Festival was made possible by a diverse team which includes Kings Park staff and volunteers from the Friends of Kings Park\, Kings Park Volunteer Guides and Friends of Bold Park Bushland.\nNews and media\nContact us for our image library\, promotional information and interview opportunities. \nWhy do we have a festival?\nThe Everlasting Kings Park Festival celebrates the amazing plant life of Western Australia\, promoting its beauty and the pressing need for its conservation. Most events and activities take place in the Western Australian Botanic Garden\, one of the most visited and well-regarded botanic gardens in the world. The WA Botanic Garden is devoted to native flora in recognition of Western Australia’s mega-diverse\, fragile and uniquely beautiful plant life. The South West region of WA (including Perth) is one of Australia’s two globally recognised biodiversity hotspots. \nThe Western Australian Botanic Garden is a leader in environmental conservation\, horticulture\, community education and scientific research\, which has made its plant collection one of the best in the world. Its displays are ‘living galleries’ of painstakingly curated collections of plants. \nThe Western Australian Botanic Garden also encompasses much of the State’s cultural heritage – from ancient Noongar history to modern day – through public art\, memorials\, trails and garden displays. It is also the venue for many cultural events each year including concerts. \nThe Everlasting Kings Park Festival has run every September since 1964\, making it one of the longest running festivals in Australia.

SUMMARY:RELICS: A New World Rises
DESCRIPTION:RELICS: A New World Rises is an immersive exhibition where vintage objects become homes for intricate miniature worlds built from LEGO® bricks. \nA refrigerator becomes a cryogenic wellness resort. A Volkswagen Beetle powers an underground energy revolution. A grandfather clock becomes a time machine. Across more than 15 large-scale installations\, tiny civilisations have adapted to the objects left behind by humanity\, each one filled with hidden details\, layered narratives and unexpected humour. \nCreated by LEGO® Masters winners Jackson Harvey and Alex Towler\, RELICS combines sculpture\, design\, storytelling and nostalgia into an experience unlike a traditional museum exhibition or typical LEGO® display. The deeper you look\, the more you discover. \nSet in an imagined future where humans have abandoned Earth\, the exhibition playfully explores creativity\, consumer culture\, sustainability and the objects we leave behind. \nLoved by all\, from ages 0–99\, RELICS invites visitors to slow down\, look closer\, and rediscover the joy of curiosity and imagination. \nLEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group\, which does not sponsor\, authorise or endorse this exhibition.
