DESCRIPTION:One of the Illawarra’s best kept secrets for a great family-friendly day out! \nThe HARS Aviation Museum\, located at Shellharbour Regional Airport in Albion Park (just over an hour by road South of Sydney)\, is a fantastic local tourist attraction that showcases some of Australia’s aviation history\, right here in the Illawarra. \nOperating since 1979\, this local aviation ‘interactive’ museum is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historical aircraft\, including the last Boeing 747-400 in Australia. \nYou can board many of their aircraft and the museum offers families a wonderful opportunity to get up close and personal with the aeroplanes\, walk through the hangars\, sit in some of the cockpits and even explore some of the planes on display. \nTarmac Days – across the 3 days/weekend of the second Friday of the Month\, between 9:30am and 3:30pm.\nTarmac Days will be held outside the HARS hangars on the weekend of the second Friday of the Month and involve the static display of some of our distinctive aircraft. Members of the public will be able to board and sit in some of the aircraft. All exhibits are staffed by guides who can help you live the experience. \nThe Tarmac Days will be held outside the HARS hangars and will involve the static display of some of our distinctive aircraft. Members of the public will be able to board and sit in some of the aircraft. There will also be guided tours of the aircraft on display. \nOpening hours and admission: Open daily/7 days a week from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm\, last tour leaves at 2pm. No need to book in advance though advance notice of groups of 10 or more is appreciated. General admission includes a guided museum tour through ALL of their displays and hangars. Tours are guided by their dedicated volunteers to ensure that you get the most out of the experience. Family passes also available. Their performances capture the spirit of the story and are sure to leave audiences inspired and entertained. \nA special highlight of this show is how each class contributes through unique dance performances that weave seamlessly through the story. These dances not only showcase our students’ creativity and teamwork but also help tell Moana’s tale in a vibrant and engaging way.
