Kung Hei Fat Choy!
Race down to Melbourne’s Luna Park this Chinese New Year and join in their fun-filled celebrations – which include entertainment, music, art and food!
Over the last weekend of Chinese New Year – Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st February – Luna Park is inviting you to celebrate the Chinese zodiac and ‘Monkey’ around, enjoying their oriental inspired entertainment.
In true Chinese New Year style, the park will come alive with red Chinese lanterns and traditional dance performances. Kids will be able to immerse themselves in Chinese culture in the craft activity area where they will have the chance to get creative and make their very own Chinese lanterns and dragon masks.
Known to bring people joy, happiness, good luck and good health, the Lion Dancers will put on a roaring performance, followed by a Kung Fu demonstration. The grand finale will see Melbourne’s largest and longest Hong Kong style performing Dragon breathe fire into Luna Park!
If you’re still hungry for more, you’ll be able to sample some Chinese inspired cuisine from Luna Park’s very own café.
The Chinese Museum will also be at the park with traditional Chinese activities you can try yourself and some great photo opportunities.
