The Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka’s hands on exhibit, Our Wonderful World, asks visitors, children and adults alike, to think about active citizenship and democracy through the building of a collective panorama. By using small stickers, participants are asked to create pictures of the things, people, feelings and ideas, that contribute to building the world that they want to live in. Tens of thousands of small stickers will help create a 15 linear metre curved panorama, of what makes a wonderful world.
Everyone who participates is given the same ‘building blocks’ – a sheet of stickers, and prompted with questions like: What does a wonderful world need? What will help people to live? Can you make a difference? Children are encouraged to think about the needs of others as well as their own. Those who do not feel that artistic are encouraged to put their contribution in words. All participants receive an award for their contribution to the world.
Entry by donation, all proceeds will be donated to the 3BA and Power FM Christmas in July appeal. MADE will also be a drop off point for donations of blankets and coats for the month of July.
