Scitech – School holiday fun

Unravel the complexities of the cosmos, step back in time to when dinosaurs reigned supreme, and experiment with slime these school holidays at Scitech! Dark Universe opens in the planetarium Saturday 24 September and celebrates the pivotal discoveries that have led us to greater knowledge of the structure and history of the Universe and our place in it. The popular CSIRO Lab workshops return for children aged 4-16 years, providing engaging hands-on experiences for curious minds. Workshops cover an array of topics including constructing an earth-quake proof tower, stepping into the shoes of a forensic scientist, and exploring Scitech by night.   It’s your last chance to see Explore-a-saurus in the BHP Billiton Exhibition Gallery before the dinosaurs go extinct once more! Get up-close-and-personal with moving and roaring animatronic versions of Triceratops, Stegosaurus, the infamous T-Rex and more, and then become a palaeontologist and use fossil evidence to uncover amazing dinosaur facts.   School holiday fun at Scitech isn’t complete without experiencing a science or puppet show. We Are Scientists is showing daily in the science Theatre and will explore the usefulness of the scientific method in everyday life through experimentation with slime! For younger scientists, Find It, Fix It in the puppet theatre will have you donning your thinking cap to help Rowena the Rat build a pram out of spare parts. Visit scitech.org.au for all the latest school holiday information or to buy tickets online.   Admission: Adults $19 Kids $12 Kids under 4yrs FREE
