DESCRIPTION:One of the Illawarra’s best kept secrets for a great family-friendly day out! \nThe HARS Aviation Museum\, located at Shellharbour Regional Airport in Albion Park (just over an hour by road South of Sydney)\, is a fantastic local tourist attraction that showcases some of Australia’s aviation history\, right here in the Illawarra. \nOperating since 1979\, this local aviation ‘interactive’ museum is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historical aircraft\, including the last Boeing 747-400 in Australia. \nYou can board many of their aircraft and the museum offers families a wonderful opportunity to get up close and personal with the aeroplanes\, walk through the hangars\, sit in some of the cockpits and even explore some of the planes on display. \nTarmac Days – across the 3 days/weekend of the second Friday of the Month\, between 9:30am and 3:30pm.\nTarmac Days will be held outside the HARS hangars on the weekend of the second Friday of the Month and involve the static display of some of our distinctive aircraft. Members of the public will be able to board and sit in some of the aircraft. All exhibits are staffed by guides who can help you live the experience. \nThe Tarmac Days will be held outside the HARS hangars and will involve the static display of some of our distinctive aircraft. Members of the public will be able to board and sit in some of the aircraft. There will also be guided tours of the aircraft on display. \nOpening hours and admission: Open daily/7 days a week from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm\, last tour leaves at 2pm.
