It’s a fun and interactive way to discover local businesses while engaging with Japanese culture. \n\n\n\n\nFloating Lantern Festival\nSaturday 20 September | From 3pm to sunset\nFriendship Gardens\, Queen’s Gardens\nAn evening of reflection and celebration\, the Floating Lantern Festival honours the values of hope\, harmony and community. Lanterns will be floated at sunset to symbolise peace and connection. \n\n\n\n\nWorkshops and Cultural Events\n\n\n\n\nThroughout the two weeks\, a range of ticketed workshops and events will be hosted around Bunbury. Participants can explore Japanese culture through: \n\n\n\n\n\nCalligraphy and origami\nManga art and traditional dance\nMusic and martial arts\nArts and crafts\nJapanese cooking\, dining experiences\, and karaoke\n\n\n\n\n\nWhile most events are free\, some workshops may require ticket purchases at an affordable cost.

DESCRIPTION:Margaret River Region Open Studios (MRROS)\, now in its 12th year\, has become a standout event on WA’s arts calendar. \nArt enthusiasts can explore the picturesque Margaret River Region through unique studio spaces\, ranging from converted barns and sea containers to railway carriages and private homes. The variety of art and experiences offered by the artists is truly remarkable. \nThis year’s MRROS features esteemed artists such as Leon Pericles\, Rebecca Cool\, Lesley Meaney\, Christian Fletcher\, Lauren Wilhelm\, Caroline Juniper\, Ian Dowling\, Nathan Day\, and Gerry Reilly. With a mix of established\, emerging\, hobbyist\, and mid-career artists\, visitors have the chance to discover new talent or acquire work from long-admired creators. \nIn 2024\, the event attracted approximately 12\,200 visitors who made 110\,000 studio visits over the 16-day period\, transforming the region into an immersive art experience. MRROS also recently won Silver at the Australian Tourism Awards in the Festivals and Events category. \nProfiles of participating artists are available on the event website\, allowing visitors to begin planning their creative journey.
