The Fraternity Club was established in 1953 by migrant Italians, and Castagne Day is just one example of how their rich, vibrant culture that has thrived in the Illawarra community.
The Fraternity Club endears all individuals to attend to experience Italian culture and enjoy the celebration! Castagne Day symbolises the traditional roasting of the chestnuts but offers the community so much more.
The festivities will include market stalls, amusement rides, entertainment from the live reptile show Snake Tails, and performances from Joanne Grace School of Dance, St Mary’s Tarantella Dancers, DJ Spinelli, and the local Ukulele Club.
There will also be a performance from the wonderful Ellie Drennan, who was the winner of the Voice 2015. The market stalls will include show bags, European food stalls, Asian and other international food, locally produced and crafted items, gifts, clothing, accessories and toys.
Castagne Day attracts interest from many members of the community from all generations, with the buzz spreading throughout the Illawarra and Sydney regions. Castagne Day offers an excellent display of products, food, rides and fun to people of all ages to enjoy!
