The WORLD PREMIERE of a symphony just written by Ken
Stott will be on Sunday 7th April (two weeks before Easter) at
Christ Church. The work is called Symphony of the Passion and is
a redirection on the major events of the Passion of Christ.
There are four sizeable movements, involving a large symphony
orchestra (Warrnambool Symphony Orchestra led by Mr John
McInnes) and three soprano soloists. The work will be led by
professional conductor Angus Christie, and featuring a
professional harpist from Melbourne.
(Claimed to be one of Australia’s best) This is probably the first time a major work of this scale has been written and performed in regional Victoria, and it is already attracting widespread attention.
Tickets will be distributed soon with information coming.
