WONDERLAND SPIEGELTENT FED SQ – Melbourne Fringe & School Holidays !

Melbourne’s iconic Federation Square and Wonderland Entertainment & Leisure are proud to announce the inaugural Wonderland Spiegeltent Festival set to entertain audiences of all ages this Spring at Federation Square’s The Paddock 12 September– 20 October.  
The Wonderland Spiegeltent, a vintage 19th century Belgian travelling circus tent, will roll into Melbourne complete with a world-class line-up of adult and family shows along with thrilling rides, nostalgic amusements and carnival style treats for all ages. The Wonderland Spiegeltent Festival will coincide with the Melbourne Fringe Festival (12-29 September) with the Spiegeltent serving as a central live entertainment hub for guests along with the Coopers Garden Bar.  Additionally, a dedicated Spring School Holidays program will be on offer featuring family friendly circus, acrobatic, magic and adventure shows with sizzling adult performers taking stage after dark.

Highlights of the Wonderland Spiegeltent Festival Program include:  

Railed12th Sep – 25th Sep, 7pm (Various Dates & Times) (Ages 15+) Welcome to ‘Railed’, a western-themed circus spectacular, combining the trademark physical talents, finely chiseled bodies and hilarious comic timing of the Headfirst Acrobats. Prepare yourself for when bare chested circus meets bare knuckle bar fights. A racy, heart-stopping display of the finest acrobatics by the most ridiculous storytellers in the circus.

Dreamboogie – 13th Sep – 14th Sep 7pm (All Ages) An act that is determined to create their own voice in Blues music, Melbourne-based Dreamboogie features Rebecca Davey, Sam Buckley, Connor O’Neill and Robert B. Dillon. In the 8 years that they have been performing together, they have turned heads, opened ears, and made a significant impact on the Australian Blues scene – touring nationally and performing regular shows at venues in Melbourne and throughout Victoria.

Circus-Cision – 13th Sep – 14th Sep, 10:30pm (Adult) A raucous late-night variety show hosted by the incredible Headfirst Acrobats (creators of smash hits Elixir and RAILED). Featuring a mash-up of Spiegeltent legends, home-grown favourites, and the freshest and hottest circus superstars of this year’s festival.

The Fairy Wonderland Show – 14th Sep – 15th Sep, 1pm (Family/Kids) The Fairy Wonderland show is the ultimate interactive musical fairy show for kids. Come along on a magical journey with Fairy Jasmine, and her best friend Fairy Jack, as they show you all the things fairies get up to in Fairyland and explore what it means to be a true fairy.

Mahua Improv Night – 14th Sep – 15th Sep, 4pm (All Ages) China’s most famous improv group is coming to Melbourne again! Using free dialogue, physical expression and performance skills to create unique improvised comedy, Mahua Improv’s enthusiasm and talent are celebrated in China and beyond … Mahua improvises impromptu scenes, characters, and plots based on the keywords provided by the audiences. Incognito – 17th Sep – 19th Sep, 5pm (Family/Kids) When spy training headquarters are infiltrated by a group of armed acrobats, new to the field spies must use their skills to defend the base… the trouble is they haven’t started training yet! Society – 17th Sep – 22nd Sep, 9pm (Adult)       Blending Cajun party culture, French exuberance, Creole voodoo, masquerade and breath-taking acrobatics. Society serves up an extroverted lighting design and unique styled soundtrack featuring live and original N’Orleans party tunes from dirty south hip hop, to the big easy jumping jazz numbers. Good As New – 20th Sep, 5pm (All Ages) Let your imagination run wild with a visit to your local thrift store. where swinging from the rafters and tumbling down the aisles is encouraged… well, not by the shopkeeper! The Listies Make You LOL! – 21st Sep – 26th Sep (Various Times) (Family/Kids) The Listies are serious about being silly.  Formed in 2008 by professional idiots Rich Higgins and Matt Kelly, they are now the most sought-after live comedy act for kidults (Kids and their adults) in Australia. Pirate Circus – 21st Sep – 29th Sep (Various Dates and Times) (Family/Kids) With a larger cast, more circus, more jokes and more pirate mayhem. A Day in The Life of You – 27th Sep – 29th Sep, 11am (Family/Kids) A colourful and fun live children’s show featuring bursts of song, dance and storytelling for children aged 2 to 6. This clever and creative trio of Sprouts, each with a charming and unique personality, spend 50 minutes tackling all the big issues in a little person’s daily life and ensures a love of music will blossom in every mini audience member. Don’t Mess with The Dummies – 30th Sept – 5th Oct (Various Times) (Family/Kids) From the unstoppable Dummies Corp comes an all-new extraordinary adventure! Don’t mess with the Dummies.
