Great Ocean Road

The stretch of road along the Victorian south west coast between the Bellarine Peninsula and Warrnambool is best known as “The Great Ocean Road”. People from all over the world come to this region of the state to experience the stunning coastal scenery on the exhilarating drive, as it hugs the ocean, climbing up and around hills and gullies. On the route there are many places to pause and enjoy the views of the ocean and what the coastal towns have to offer. In Torquay, The Surf World Musesum celebrates the story of surfing, and Australia’s contribution to the development of surfing around the world. In Lorne you can go jump on some trampolines or grab a snack or meal at one of the many eateries. Nearby, the Otway Fly Treetop Adventures offer a whole host of experiences with the two core activities being the Treetop Walk and the Zip Line Eco Tour. The Otway Park, Trees Adventures at Yeodene is a new eco adventure that allows adults and kids to climb through a range of aerial challenges. Near Port Campbell are the world famous 12 Apostles. These unique rock formations that were carved by years of erosion used to be part of the mainland. There’s not 12 anymore – Some have succumbed to the elements. How many are left? Not telling – You’ll have to find out for yourself!
