Mandurah & Peel Region

Mandurah and the Peel Region is a popular destination with families due to the endless amount of things to do. Look for dolphins, have dinner on the foreshore, swim in the inlet or at one of the beautiful beaches, visit the carnival, go shopping or visit the museum or art gallery. There is plenty to do with families and it is only a short drive away from Perth. The possibilities are endless!

Mandurah and the Peel Region are popular with families. Beautiful unspoilt beaches, inland waterways and river flats mean the landscape has something for everyone and caters to lots of interests and activities so close to Perth. Mandurah has a distinctly different feel and is the quintessential seaside town. You can hire a boat and cruise the waterways whilst looking for dolphins or bird life (pelicans abound) or cast a line and catch dinner from the estuary to enjoy later on the foreshore with its great playground and facilities. Swim in the inlet or at one of the beautiful beaches or hire a bike and go for an easy (and flat) ride around the town. There are endless possibilities, endless fun, endless things to do with your family and friends. Look for dolphins while cruising the waterways, catch a feed from the estuary or have dinner on the foreshore, swim in the inlet or at one of the beautiful beaches. Visit the carnival, grab a coffee, go shopping, visit a gallery or museum. You should try out your skills in a round of Disc Golf at Mandurah’s Halls Park. It’s free of charge and the entire family is bound to have fun! If your children enjoy skateboarding, they will just love the skate parks at Halls Park Mandurah and in Jarrahdale, Serpentine and Mundijong. At Pinjarra’s Peel Zoo, the children can encounter more than 100 different bird and animal species. The Zookeeper 4 A Day program even permits them to see what a day in the life of an experienced zookeeper entails. This is a definite must-do for all animal and nature lovers from 8 - 16 years old. If your kids enjoy trains, a ride on Mandurah’s Mini Toot, the kid’s sized Tourist Fun Train, or the Hotham Valley Tourist Train will make for an amazing day they’ll thank you for. Situated in Dwellingup, the ancient Steam Ranger (Sundays from May – October) or the Forest Train will excite and engage your kids.
