Wollongong also boasts a plethora of family friendly attractions including the Science Centre and Planetarium, Symbio Zoo, Jamberoo Action Park, The Illawarra Museum, The Australia Motorlife Museum and the Nan Tien Temple – the largest Buddhist Temple in the Southern Hemisphere! Hovering 45m above the forest floor, the Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk provides picturesque views. There is even a sunrise walk which allows you to capture the start of the day from a high! Symbio Wildlife Park has the full offering of native animals featuring a range of great animal encounters. A trip to Symbio is perfect for animal lovers of all ages. Just down from Wollongong, is Shellharbour. It is a picturesque seaside town. Whether you are seeking a seaside escape, an adventure or a great value family holiday, you’ll be delighted with Shellharbour. Lake Illawarra is a fabulous spot for a family picnic where the kids can splash about in the shallows waters edge. Hire bikes and enjoy a ride along the extensive cycle ways in the area.
