Join the Hellenic Museum this school holidays and explore tales of tailoring in ancient Greece.
Have you ever wondered why so many ancient statues are naked? How did an old shirt manage to kill the mighty Hercules? Did the ancient Greeks have pockets in their robes, and if not, where did they keep their loose change?
Discover the answers to all of these questions and more in Ancient Attire, a hands-on workshop where young explorers will encounter objects in the Hellenic Museum collections; craft their very own ancient cloak, hat and staff; then assume an ancient identity and put their costume to the test in a series of physical challenges! Will you hang on by your threads?
This workshops is recommended for curious minds aged 6–13. Tickets include all materials, and Museum general entry after the workshop.
