Shellharbour

Shellharbour a picturesque seaside destination, conveniently located on the South Coast of NSW is just 90 minutes south of Sydney and 2.5 hours from Canberra. Whether you’re seeking a seaside escape, an adventure or a great value family holiday, you’ll be delighted with Shellharbour.

It’s no surprise that the beaches are best enjoyed in the warmer months. However, Shellharbour gets pretty busy during the peak of summer. Make sure you book accommodation well in advance when travelling over summer and during school holidays. Shellharbour offers five stunning beaches including ‘The Farm’, a National Surfing Reserve located within Killalea Reserve where the little and big kids can learn to surf by taking a lesson with a local surfing school.

Down south of Shellharbour is Jamberoo, which is a great base to then explore Budderoo National Park and Carrington Falls.

Jamberoo Action Park is one of the star attraction of the area. It has multi-storey water rides, a bobsled and much more. Not too far away is the Illawarra Fly, which is Australia’s highest zip-line! Hovering 45m above the forest floor, the Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk provides picturesque views. There is even a sunrise walk which allows you to capture the start of the day from a high!
