Rockingham is well known for its shady,grassed foreshores and beautiful clean beaches. Rockingham foreshore has picnic tables, benches and free electric BBQ’s amongst the trees. With excellent children’s playgrounds, it’s the perfect spot for a family day out. If you love the sun on your back and your toes in the sand, you’ll adore Rockingham’s beaches. For safe, calm, shallow water swimming and sandy beaches, Rockingham Beach, Palm Beach, Safety Bay, Shoalwater, Warnbro and Port Kennedy are the best places to go. Singleton Beach and Golden Bay in the South are both for surfing and windsurfing. The Shoalwater Islands Marine Park boasts secluded white sandy bays, vibrant coloured corals, over 600 pairs of little penguins, 150 bottle-nosed dolphins and countless sea lions that call this area home.
There are a number of ways to experience and interact with the local wildlife including guided swimming and paddling tours You can learn to stand up paddleboard, wind or kitesurf in ideal, gentle conditions at Safety Bay or take a surfing lesson in the perfect beginner’s waves at Secret Harbour. Point Peron is a beautiful location and offers some of the best snorkelling in the region off a limestone headland dotted with reefs, caves and swimthroughs in crystal clear water.
