The Mint on the Move – ACT – Temporary new location

From 29 January 2024 the Royal Australian Mint in Deakin will be closed as we freshen up for our 60th birthday. We look forward to welcoming you back in Spring 2024 with new galleries, a new shop and improved amenities. But never fear, the Mint Coin Shop and a special exhibition are relocating to the Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) in the heart of Canberra, from 12 February 2024. The Exhibition at CMAG, Change: Stories from your pocket is running until 31 July 2024 in Civic and explores how our coins tell the stories of Australia – and asks what the future of currency might look like.

Week days we will be open 8:30am to 5pm.

Weekends we will be open 12pm to 4pm.
