Join the Hellenic Museum on a journey into the underworld.

This hands-on workshop about the mysteries of death and the afterlife will see budding young historians explore objects in the Hellenic Museum collections, and learn all about the rituals and beliefs of the ancient Greeks and Egyptians. Then, the group will put their new knowledge into practice by constructing a miniature funeral pyre according to ancient Greek practices.

Last but not least, participants will reenact the ancient Egyptian battle of Kadesh. Will you survive and become a holy priest, or fall in battle and be ‘mummified’ in preparation for your journey into the afterlife!? There’s only one way to find out!

This workshop is recommended for young adventurers aged 7–14 years. Tickets include all materials, and Museum general entry after the workshop.
