In this active school holiday workshop, kids will discover that some of their favourite schoolyard games have a surprisingly long history, as they learn how to play the ancient Greek and Roman predecessors to games such as tug of war, hopscotch, marbles and even What’s the time, Mr Wolf?
Along the way participants will also explore how these games were first created, what they were designed to teach ancient children, and the broader cultural significance of games in the ancient world.
This kids’ workshop is recommended for ages 7–14. Tickets include all materials, and museum general admission after the workshop.
