Dreamskape Launches Dreamrace and Expands to Knox and Southland!

Following the opening of Dreamskape’s first augmented reality (AR) entertainment centre in July last year, the Australian-first digital theme park is expanding.

Dreamrace officially launched last 21 September 2025, right next door to Dreamskape at District Docklands, Melbourne. Dreamrace features new-tech VR rides with advanced motion simulators, as well as active adventure courses inspired by classic video game concepts.

New Dreamskapes opened at Westfield Knox last 17 September 2025 and at Westfield Southland in December. Interstate Dreamskapes are set to open in 2026.

Dreamskape and Dreamrace offer a fully interactive hybrid experience that is unique in Australia. Players can choose from over 150 active games, immersive experiences, rides and adventure courses that combine cutting edge VR and AR with physical challenges and rollercoaster and motorbike inspired motion simulators.

“Several of our attractions are true Australian firsts, and many of them are normally only found at world expos or major theme parks overseas. For example, Dreamrace’s Hurricane 360 VR is the only one of its kind in Australia: fully rotational with coaster style seats that spin riders a complete 360 degrees while immersing them in ultra realistic virtual reality,” says Joanna Chen, co-founder and President of Dreamskape.

“Another Australian exclusive is our Dream Spartan and Dream Ronin adventure games at Docklands: an active experience that we pioneered by combining advanced gaming software from the Netherlands with state-of-the-art hardware from China. It’s the first time this technology has been integrated anywhere in the world, and Dreamrace is the only place you can play it.”

While VR arcades exist in Asia, Europe, and the U.S., very few combine full-motion rides + naked-eye 3D + AR challenge games under one roof. Dreamskape offers a curated mix, making it one of the first entertainment centres globally to bring all of these technologies together in a family-friendly theme park setting.

“The balance of “tech immersion” and “physical activity” at Dreamskape and Dreamrace means players aren’t just sitting in a headset — they’re running, riding, spinning or climbing while interacting with virtual worlds. It transforms gaming tech into a shared, active experience, appealing to both kids and adults,” says Fraser Bell, co-founder and Director of Dreamskape.

AR ride Dream Coaster is a rollercoaster simulator with 3D glassless technology, offering full naked-eye immersion. Once you’re securely strapped into the coaster cart, the ride becomes a mind boggling 7D experience. Dream Coaster is available at Dreamskape Docklands and Knox, an unforgettable adrenaline rush for ages 3 and up.

Dreamrace’s 360 coaster simulator Hurricane has six-axis motion technology that simulates the wildest twists, drops and turns, with 15 different mind-blowing experiences to choose from.

The multiplayer Dreamride is a motion driven VR ride where you are strapped into a motorbike-like cockpit for up to four players. Riders can choose from 8 different high-definition, cinematic adventure scenarios. Scenescapes include airborne and horse riding experiences, complete with real wind and water effects.

The space design for Dreamrace recently won the Gold Award at the Asia-Pacific Space Design Awards 2024–2025, with the design team Brand Space (China) supported by Melbourne architect Justin Lee of S2dio-X.

Together, Dreamskape (770 sqm) and Dreamrace Docklands (830 sqm) cover a huge 1600 square metres of fun-space in one indoor entertainment destination, available year round.

Between them, Melbourne business and life partners Joanna Chen and Fraser Bell have over five decades of experience in leading tourism and international technology projects. They worked with three of their adult children to create the Dreamskape brand, design the Koala Mascot ‘Deekay’, and install over 2.5 kilometers of light and data cabling for the flagship centre.

Joanna and Fraser plan to invest $30 million to build a total of 20 Dreamskape complexes in Australia & New Zealand over the next 5-8 years.

Fun lovers and thrill seekers of all ages are invited to interact with these future technologies in the Dreamskape new world reality.
