The Longford Cup is an annual tradition that has been held since 1845, the Cup remains a major event on the Tasmanian racing calendar to this day. The New Year’s Day event provides a chance for serious punters and family groups alike to spend the public holiday under the glorious Northern Midlands sunshine.

It the biggest event of the year for locals and people of all ages travel near and far to enjoy the wonderful colour, fashion and racing action only a Country Cup Day can bring.

General admission is your pass to a full day of racing action where you’re sure to have a day that’s got it all, Including Live entertainment with Apache and City of Launceston Pipes & Drums, Kachoo Country Fashions on the Field, Free face painting & pony rides for the children, food & beverage vans, and a day of great country racing.

Book into the Country Cup Marquee and enjoy prime trackside location with big screen viewing, entry to the course and marquee, a delicious gourmet BBQ, beer, wine, sparkling & soft drink for the duration, trainer & jockey interviews, MC Brent Crawford

(Marquee opens half an hour before the first races and closes half an hour after the last race).
