National Simultaneous Storytime is a fun, annual event that brings children from all over Australia together to read the same picture book.
Sponsored by the Australian Library and Information Association, it’s a great way for children, parents, teachers and library enthusiasts to enjoy a story together, build a love of reading, and feel part of something special, all while celebrating wonderful Australian authors and illustrators.
The 2026 NSS book is Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller. The story follows spirited kangaroo Luna and her friends as they chase their football dreams across the outback, blending action, teamwork and fun to inspire young readers.
Suitable for school-aged children (aged 5 and over). An adult must accompany children 12 years and under.
