Location and Accommodation
Captain Cook Holiday Park in the heart of Adventure Bay, which is located on Southern Bruny Island, is the perfect location to base yourself whilst exploring the many attractions Bruny has to offer. Bruny Island is located off the south-eastern coast of Tasmania and is accessed by a vehicular ferry which departs from Kettering, a 40 minute drive south of Hobart.
Captain Cook Holiday Park offers a variety of Bruny Island accommodation options, from unpowered camp sites to family cabins and villas, something for everyone. With beautiful locations along the beach and river, you’re sure to find the perfect spot to enjoy your stay.
Activities and Facilities
The park features many high quality and convenient facilities which you and the entire family can enjoy. The large camp kitchen has appliances for all your cooking needs, including microwaves, toasters, an oven, two cooktops, fridges and freezer as well as a gas pizza oven. There is filtered drinkable water available straight from the tap, a cosy wood fire, tv and couches for a comfortable night in! There are 2 communal BBQ areas for everyone’s use.
The playground has new play equipment was purchased from Imagination Play and has been hugely popular with our younger guests. Want to keep the kids entertained? They have a single or double pedal Go-Karts to hire. Or if you’re into water sports, they also have single or double Kayaks available. Be sure to ask at reception to find out more.
Enjoy Bruny Island Attractions
The Captain Cook Holiday Park is directly opposite the beach with its white sand and sky blue sea and it isn’t uncommon to see pods of dolphin and migrating whales in the Bay. The park itself is home to some local wildlife including native birds that people travel from all over the world to see.
The award winning Bruny Eco Boat cruise departure point is an easy 1km walk from our park and a further 1/2 km will bring you to the start of South Bruny National Park with its scenic walking tracks. The well-stocked Adventure Bay Store is a stone throw away as is the Bruny Bowls Club with their popular Friday and Saturday night meals. In fact there are many culinary temptations on Bruny all within an easy drive from our park.
