Girl Guides Tasmania
Girl Guides Tasmania is a leading youth organisation offering a safe and inclusive environment where girls and young women can grow, lead, and thrive. Open to girls aged 5 to 17, and women 18 and over, Girl Guides Tasmania delivers a dynamic, non-formal education program designed to equip participants with essential life skills, promote leadership, and foster community spirit.
Guides take part in the Australian Guide Program, which focuses on developing practical skills, resilience, and community spirit. From camping and trying new challenges to leading projects and helping others, every girl is encouraged to explore her potential in a supportive, all-girl environment.
Each girl actively participates in planning and evaluating her experience. From local community initiatives to state-wide and international events, the Girl Guides journey is rich with opportunity.
In addition to outdoor adventures and skill development, Guides gain a sense of belonging and self-worth. They’re supported to become thoughtful, resourceful, and resilient individuals who understand the value of community and global citizenship.
Guiding for Women
Girl Guides Tasmania is not only for girls. Women aged 18 and over play a crucial role in sustaining and enriching the movement. There are multiple pathways for women to get involved, depending on their interests and availability. Training and support are provided to all volunteers, ensuring that every adult member feels confident and valued in their role.
