Two-Bedroom Self-Contained Apartment: This ground-floor apartment sleeps four guests with a queen bed and two singles. For meals, families can head into the licensed on-site bistro, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu focuses on hearty, traditional fare and chef’s specialties, alongside a dedicated menu of Asian dishes and lighter snacks. If the children are too tired to eat out, room service is available for all meals.

Zeehan Tasmania

The historic town of Zeehan has a deep connection to early Tasmanian exploration. Sighted by Abel Tasman in 1642, the nearby peak was named Mount Zeehan in 1802 by explorers Bass and Flinders after Tasman’s brig. The area underwent a massive transformation following the discovery of silver-lead by Frank Long in 1882. This find triggered a monumental mining boom, earning Zeehan the title of the ‘Silver City of the West’ and rapidly making it the third-largest town in Tasmania.

Today, the town serves as a quiet geographic centre for exploring the West Coast. Staying here puts you within a short drive of major regional attractions:

Local Coastlines: Only 30 minutes away from the wild coastlines of Granville Harbour and Trial Harbour.

Neighbouring Towns: A 30-minute drive to Queenstown and 40 minutes to Strahan.

Natural Wilderness: Located 40 minutes from the ancient temperate rainforests of the Tarkine, and one hour from Cradle Mountain.

Families can step back in time at the West Coast Heritage Centre right in town to explore local trains, mines, and historical treasures. To secure a room or enquire about group bookings, families can reach the team on 03 6471 6107 or via email at info@heemskirkmotorhotel.com.au.
