Opened in 2017, Lobster Shack was born from a shared passion for seafood and community. The owner saw a gap in the market for fresh, ready-to-eat seafood and decided to transform their export business, Trigonia, into an ocean-to-plate experience that locals and visitors could enjoy.
Today, Lobster Shack offers not just meals but stories, culture, and connection. Families can explore the upstairs maritime museum, where children and adults can learn about Tasmania’s rich seafood heritage and the evolution of Bicheno as a thriving fishing port. Downstairs, customers can choose their own live Southern Rock Lobster from the tank for a meal that couldn’t be fresher.
The menu is packed with family favourites, from traditional fish and chips to garlic butter lobster, crispy calamari, seafood chowder, and the famed lobster roll served with chips. Gluten-free options are also available, making dining inclusive and accessible for all.
