Softball has a long history in ACT, with the first recorded game being played in 1939. Since then, the sport, as well as most other ACT sports, have grown in popularity. The ACT Softball Association (ACTSA) is the governing body for the sport and offer various programs and activities suitable for families.

Junior Softball Competitions

Softball ACT operates all junior competitions in the ACT, providing a clear and systematic pathway of development and fun competition no matter which level you play at!

All Junior competitions are MIXED GENDER!

All games this season will be played at the Hawker International Softball Centre (unless stated otherwise), generally played on a Saturday morning between October and March.

Our junior competition has many divisions all playing on Saturdays: 

  • Under 8’s Teeball | 8am 
  • Under 10’s Teeball | 9:45am
  • Under 12’s Softball | 8am
  • High School Division 2 Softball (U18) | 9:45am
  • High School Division 1 Softball (U18) | 11:30am

Women’s Softball League

All Women’s League games are played at Hawker International Softball Centre. The Women’s League plays after the Junior League competition on a Saturday afternoon and played between October to March. This provides a pathway for our Junior girls to transition into our Women’s League competition.

Our Women’s League have the following divisions:

  • Competitive Competition
  • Premier League
  • Social Competition
  • C Grade
  • D Grade
  • E Grade

Men’s Softball League

All Men’s League games are played at Hawker International Softball Centre. The Men’s League plays on Monday and Tuesday nights between October to March.

Our Men’s League have the following divisions:

  • A Grade – Elite Division – Monday nights
  • B Grade – Development Division – Tuesday nights
  • C Grade – Social Grade – Monday nights

A Grade – Men’s showcases some of the best male softballer’s in Australia and the World with the 89ers Open Men’s team making up nearly half the Aussie Steelers (Open Men’s National Team).
