Join us for a fun and vibrant day for the family at the Hobart Town Hall on Sunday, 19 October.
The Hobart Town Hall is one of Hobart’s finest heritage buildings and the hallways and major rooms will be open for the public to explore. This is a free, fun day where you can soak up the history, the architecture, and enjoy free musical performances, informative talks and historical displays.
For children and families, there will be free facepainting, games and activities, dancing workshops, craft activities and storytelling.
Highlights will include climbing aboard one of Hobart’s historic double decker trams, seeing the steam roller in action, listening to the choirs and folk bands, and enjoying the mini floral show in back of the ballroom.
There will also be a series of building tours where you can learn more about the historic rooms in the building and learn some fun facts. In the Court Room there will be a series of informative talks on current programs and projects being undertaken by City of Hobart staff on waste, gardening and design.
10 am on the front steps of Town Hall.
Starting in the Town Hall foyer.
A series of talks covering topics from City Strategies to Mather’s House (with a Tai Chi session!) and Design Guidelines.
The full schedule will be updated prior to the event.
