Margaret River Region Open Studios (MRROS), now in its 12th year, has become a standout event on WA’s arts calendar.
Art enthusiasts can explore the picturesque Margaret River Region through unique studio spaces, ranging from converted barns and sea containers to railway carriages and private homes. The variety of art and experiences offered by the artists is truly remarkable.
This year’s MRROS features esteemed artists such as Leon Pericles, Rebecca Cool, Lesley Meaney, Christian Fletcher, Lauren Wilhelm, Caroline Juniper, Ian Dowling, Nathan Day, and Gerry Reilly. With a mix of established, emerging, hobbyist, and mid-career artists, visitors have the chance to discover new talent or acquire work from long-admired creators.
In 2024, the event attracted approximately 12,200 visitors who made 110,000 studio visits over the 16-day period, transforming the region into an immersive art experience. MRROS also recently won Silver at the Australian Tourism Awards in the Festivals and Events category.
Profiles of participating artists are available on the event website, allowing visitors to begin planning their creative journey. An A3 Event Guide will be released closer to the event and can be collected from Jackson’s Drawing Supplies, regional visitor centres, participating galleries, or viewed online.
