In celebration of WA Bike Month, City of Bayswater residents are invited to roll up for a free family-friendly cycling event, River Bike Ride, on Saturday 29 October 2022 at Bardon Park.
The event is supported by the Department of Transport and WestCycle, who awarded the City a $7,500 grant as part of their WA Bike Month grants program.
City of Bayswater Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said this fun, inclusive event is a great way for riders of all ages to experience the health and wellbeing benefits cycling has to offer.
“The family-friendly River Bike Ride includes two routes, a 7km and a 14km option, with the furthest route looping around Riverside Gardens and back,” she said.
“Riders young and old can experience the City’s great cycle networks, which pass through a number of local attractions, such as the newly built Maylands Waterland, Riverside Gardens, Eric Singleton Bird Sanctuary and Environment House.
“Taking part in the ride is a great way to get some exercise, connect with your community and make the most of our cycle paths along the gorgeous river.”
Riders can also meet Mascot Constable Care, have their bike checked by Bayswater State Emergency Service to ensure it’s safe and enjoy a free sausage sizzle and drink after the ride.
