School holiday fun at the National Museum of Australia

School holiday fun at the National Museum of Australia

There’s lots to do at the National Museum of Australia over the winter school holidays, offering fun for all the family.

Experience the joy and wonder of stories with Talented Tales, a special series featuring award-winning children’s book authors and illustrators from around Australia. After play time, join our guest author or illustrator for story time, then head over to the Workshop for a unique creative activity. Recommended for ages 3–9 years.

Step into a world of innovation with our Design Challenge program, inspired by our captivating new exhibition Material World. Get hands-on with a variety of materials and explore their unique properties. Experience the process of design thinking, from brainstorming to building, as you tackle real-world problems along the way. Recommended for ages 6–12 years.

Don’t miss an exciting opportunity to meet Arnhem Land artists from Bábbarra Women’s Centre, whose works are on display in Feared and Revered: Feminine Power through the Ages. Join them for a textile block-printing workshop and print your own tote bag to take home – or a BYO T-shirt! Recommended for ages 10–15 years.

Children must be supervised by an adult. Spaces are limited, bookings essential.
