We have gained 'provisional status' as an International Dark Sky Reserve which is a big step towards protecting the wonderful dark skies we enjoy to show people the stars. Our Head Astronomer, Rick Tonello is busy helping to organize the lifestream to Yagan of the 2023 solar eclipse from Exmouth.
The centre has also been lucky enough to win three awards this year, the Joondalup Business Association 'Best Hospitality and Tourism Business' The Wheatbelt Business Network award for 'Not-For-Profit' Business of the Year and the WA Tourism Bronze award for 'Tourist Attractions'
Summer is a great time for visiting the Gravity Discovery Centre and Observatory. The weather is beautiful, the wildflowers are still out until after Christmas and the skies are mostly clear for stargazing. We are open seven days and nights a week for all of January.
