Busselton is nestled along the wide sandy shores of Geographe Bay. The Bay makes the beaches very calm, making it a great place to take the kids for a swim, fish, snorkel or dive. The main claim to fame for Busselton is its timber jetty that stretches 1.8km – the longest in the Southern Hemisphere! People come from all over the world to visit it. The train along the jetty and the underwater aquarium, is something for the whole family to enjoy.

Busselton and Dunsborough are located along the expansive shores of Geographe Bar, safeguarded from the predominant winds. The tranquil Bay beaches are ideal for families with opportunities for swimming, fishing, snorkelling and diving. Busselton has a history museum, but its main claim to fame is its timber jetty that is the longest in the Southern Hemisphere and stretches 1.8km. Busselton gets visitors from all over the globe to stroll down the Busselton Jetty or ride the Jetty Train to see the amaizng Underwater Observatory which displays Australia’s Greatest Artificial Reef. There are swimming and diving platforms, interpretive plaques and for those less athletically inclined, you can board the jetty train to travel the 1.7km to the observatory. Along the entire foreshore there is an amazing pathway that is perfect for bikes, scooters, prams or a laid-back picturesque stroll. To the left you will see a massive parking lot, with steps leading down to the beach, water fountains, barbeques, sculpted gardens, undercover tables and seating. When it is expected to be busy, you will usually see an arrangement of food trucks in this area. To the right yo will see a humungous new skate park that the children will love. Families will never get bored at the Foreshore. Whilst the region does have a reputation for its wine which the parents will love, there are plenty of activities to keep the young ones entertained.
