Know who you child would like to play with, if you are unsure, it's ok to ask. This is also applicable to you as a parent. You might have connected well with another parent from school with whom you're most comfortable with. The first step is to ask if you can arrange a playdate, get their number and arrange one. Keep your playdates short. As much as possible, host the playdates at your place. Know your child and his playmate's interests so you can plan the activities well. As this is a good exercise for your child, keep the activities that avoid the use of electronic devices and toys and opt for simple sensory motor games. Your child gains friends, so do you. As you build relationships with other parents who share the same interests and concerns as you do with your child.
